Why Homemade Electrolytes?

Homemade electrolyte drinks are free from artificial colors, flavors, and excess sugar found in many commercial options. By making your own, you control the quality and quantity of ingredients, ensuring a natural, healthy hydration solution.

Key Ingredients and Their Benefits

  1. Himalayan Pink Salt (Fine Grain): Rich in minerals, sodium from this source helps balance fluid levels in the body and supports nerve and muscle function.

  2. Potassium Chloride: Potassium is vital for heart health, muscle contractions, and preventing cramps. It also aids in fluid balance.

  3. Magnesium Chloride: Essential for over 300 biochemical reactions in the body, magnesium supports muscle and nerve function, energy production, and may help in relaxation and reducing cramps.

  4. True Lemon & True Lime: These provide natural flavoring (from real lemons and limes) which adds a refreshing taste.

  5. Organic Monk Fruit Blend: A natural sweetener, monk fruit adds sweetness without the extra calories or impact on blood sugar levels, making it a healthier alternative to refined sugar.

How These Electrolytes Support Health and Hydration

Together, these ingredients replenish essential minerals lost through sweat, support hydration, and aid in numerous bodily functions. They are especially beneficial in preventing dehydration, maintaining endurance during prolonged physical activity, and ensuring overall well-being.

DIY Electrolyte Drink Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 tsp Himalayan Pink Salt (Fine Grain)

  • 1/10 tsp Potassium Chloride

  • 1/8 tsp Magnesium Chloride

  • 1 packet True Lemon

  • 1 packet True Lime

  • Organic Monk Fruit Blend (optional)

  • 16-30oz of water

Instructions:

  1. Dissolve Salts: In a 16-32oz container, dissolve the Himalayan pink salt, potassium chloride, and magnesium chloride in a small amount of water (some sources say warm water helps dissolve).

  2. Add Flavor: Stir in the True Lemon and True Lime packets for a refreshing citrus taste.

  3. Sweeten: Add the Organic Monk Fruit Blend and mix well until fully dissolved (I drink mine without any sweetener).

  4. Dilute: Add the remaining water to make up one liter. Stir or shake thoroughly to ensure everything is well combined.

  5. Chill and Serve: Refrigerate the drink until chilled. Shake or stir well before serving.

  6. Enjoy: Sip throughout the day, especially before, during, or after periods of physical activity, or whenever you need a hydration boost.
